Like most people, I've wanted my own website for quite some time. This want was only exacerbated after discovering tinyprojects, a minimalist website meant to showcase small, but complete, programming projects that took ~about~ a week to finish. While I don't intend to follow a weekly release of content, I do love the idea of handmaking a website to hold me accountable for releasing something from whatever it is that I'm tinkering with.
The first project to showcase is this website! During my day-to-day life as a software developer, I've become accustomed to relying on others for getting my work done. This is usually through the form of software dependencies. When something doesn't work, it's up to me to dig through and find why a dependency isn't behaving.
This website is the antithesis of that.
I wanted a place without surprises. A place where things are simple, but meaningful. Everything you see here has been carefully thought out and, as a result, is fairly barebones. But that's okay. I don't want to spend time optimizing my Wix template, debugging React components, or figure out performance improvements for anything here.
Everything is simple HTML + CSS + JS. As a result it's fast, uses few resources, and works on all browsers (including mobile).
Here's to a bright future. Cheers 🎉
